We are proud to offer JYAA Wrestling for the following age groups:
Kindergarten Through Sixth Grade
JYAA Wrestling participates in the Licking County Wrestling League and will be playing teams from multiple surrounding communities including Centerburg, Granville, Heath, Johnstown, Lakewood, Licking Heights, Licking Valley, Newark, Newark Catholic, Northridge, Utica and Watkins Memorial.
Practices will begin no later than Mid November and matches will begin Mid December.
2022 Wrestling Information
Please join the Coaches and returning wrestlers on October 5th at 7:30 in the JYAA
Barn at Belt Park for an informational meeting about youth wrestling. We will discuss
both the physical and mind set benefits of wrestling. Q&A to follow.
Attendance is not required for participation. Registration is currently open at JYAA.org.
Please register by October 15th 2022.
Ages: Kindergarten—6th Grade (Co-ed)
Cost: $95 per wrestler
Location: The Barn @ Belt Park
Optional balance and mobility camp is planned for mid October. Practice slated to begin in November.
Detailed practice and competition schedule will be shared through the Team Manager App.
In addition to teaching wrestling technique, the program spends time on the “selfs”.
- Self respect: a foundation of good sportsmanship, true self respect can only be achieved by
respecting others and being honorable in our words and actions.
- Self reliance: the goal is for our wrestlers to begin to understand the relationship between effort
and achievement. To examine how our actions can affect outcomes before looking
to blame others or circumstances outside of our control.
- Self control: mental attitude has a huge impact in sports and in life. Some time will be spent
addressing the positive and negative impact of thought. Following direction and
focusing on the task at hand is important for growth. Order and expectations will be
be clear and consistent (expectations vary significantly from K to 6th).
